Amsoil Synthetic Oil - "Changing Your Oil
Less Often is a Good Thing."
Amsoil History and How the First API Certified
Synthetic Motor Oil Performed Like No Other Oil in the Industry
Amsoil began in 1972 by founder Lt. Colonel
Al Amatuzio and produced the first API certified synthetic motor oil. The first can of oil was a 25,000 mile 10W-40 synthetic motor oil that
performed like no other oil in the industry. When the new 10W-40
synthetic motor oil appeared on the market in 1972, it signaled the
birth of an entire industry. Today, Amsoil continues to be a Company of
firsts that include 35,000 mile synthetic motor oils and 25,000 mile
synthetic Absolute Efficiency Nano-fiber oil filters. Amsoil Nano-fiber
filters offer 98% efficiency at 15 micron and are 50% efficient at 7
micron.

foreign oil, and saves you money. No other oil company can compare,
period.

prove us wrong! That won't happen because our competitors know it's
true." A. J. Amatuzio, President and CEO - Amsoil,

Release: AMSOIL
Named Official Oil of AMA Pro Road Racing and Daytona SportBike
Presenting Partner
DAYTONA
BEACH, Fla. (March 4, 2009) - AMSOIL
has reached an agreement with AMA Pro
Road Racing
that will see one of the world's leading synthetic oil brands expand
their presence in the motorsports community as the Official Oil of AMA
Pro Road Racing and the presenting partner of the AMA Pro Daytona
SportBike class. In addition, AMSOIL has signed a two-year agreement with Larry
Pegram and the Foremost Insurance/Ducati racing program to compete in
the 2009 AMA American Superbike class.
The dramatic
rise in the price of lubricants over the past two years has been
all-encompassing and well-documented. All oil companies – conventional,
synthetic, large and small – have endured a seemingly endless barrage of
price increases, most stemming from the skyrocketing price of crude oil.
Now that the crude oil barrel has plummeted from the highs of last summer, oil
consumers, distributors and manufacturers alike are expecting the price
of motor oil to follow suit. AMSOIL is no exception; the company has
been pressuring its suppliers to reduce prices for several months. After
a great deal of negotiating, AMSOIL is finally able to reduce prices for
all customers.
"New" - AMSOIL Reduces Prices of Several Products Effective April 1
For the second consecutive
month, AMSOIL INC. is reducing prices on a few select synthetic oil
products. A thorough assessment of market variables along with slightly
reduced costs on a limited number of raw materials have allowed AMSOIL
to reduce pricing.

Amsoil Synthetic Motor Oil has been proven
the best for 35 years and will dramatically improve your vehicles
performance, fuel economy, and life!
AMSOIL synthetic motor oil does
not break down, shear or loose viscosity under heat and stress.
Petroleum motor oil breaks down under heat and stress and leaves carbon,
varnish and sludge deposits in your engine and allows your critical
engine components to wear much more rapidly. It's no wonder you have to
change it every 3000 miles and your local quick lube or dealership
service center can't wait to see you again to charge you more of your
hard earned money! AMSOIL is specially engineered
to last longer in service and perform better than any product on the
market. AMSOIL’s published tests and over thirty five years of satisfied
customers prove it.
Do-It-Yourself Oil Change Savings Example Using Amsoil
Oil and Filters Vs Conventional (based on 5 quarts)
A person that
drives 25,000 miles per year and uses conventional motor oil and filters
for 3,000-mile drain intervals must change the oil eight times per year:
Conventional 5W-30 or 10W-30 Motor Oil 40 quarts are
needed for 25,000 miles* @ $3.00/qt. x 40 = $120.00 and 8 Standard Oil
Filters @ $6.00 per filter x 8 = $48.00
TOTAL $168.00
The do-it-yourself customer pays $21.00 per 3,000 miles
using conventional oil.
A
do-it-yourself customer who drives 25,000 miles per year and uses AMSOIL
synthetic motor oil and high-performance Ea Oil Filters for 25,000-mile
drain intervals must only change his or her oil once per year (Note:
AMSOIL synthetic motor oils may be used for 25,000 miles with
conventional oil filters, but filters must be changed at filter
manufacturer’s recommended change interval):
AMSOIL 5W-30 or 10W-30 Synthetic Oil5 quarts
needed for 25,000 miles* @ $8.90/qt. x 5 = $44.50 and 1 AMSOIL Ea Oil
Filter @ $16.00
TOTAL $60.50
The do-it-yourself customer pays $7.26 per 3,000 miles and
saves $107.50
per year using AMSOIL synthetic motor oil and Ea Filters,
while also saving the time and work associated with changing oil an
additional seven
times per year.
How Does
AMSOIL
Synthetic Motor Oil Compare Against Other Major Oil Brands Synthetics?
There is not a single one
that even comes close to providing the wear protection that AMSOIL does!
Just look at the graphs on the back of AMSOIL's Series 2000 20W-50
Synthetic Racing Oil or the Series 2000 0W-30 Severe Service Oil. The 20W-50 Mobil 1 Tri-Synthetic leaves a wear
scar over 2 times that of the AMSOIL (0.440 mm for AMSOIL vs. 0.922 mm
for Mobil 1)!
Same thing goes for Havoline Formula 3 (0.713), Valvoline Synthetic
(0.741), Castrol Syntec (0.757), Quaker State (0.790, synthetic blend).
The Mobil 1 Tri-Synthetic 0W-30 leaves a wear
scar over 1.6 times that of the AMSOIL 0W-30 (0.373 for AMSOIL and 0.607
for Mobil 1)!
Same thing goes for Penzoil 5W-30 at 0.540, Castrol Syntec 5W-50 at
0.576, Mobil 1 5W-30 at 0.589 and Quaker State 4x4 10W-30 Synthetic
Blend at 0.595.

Signature Series SSO synthetic engine oil does and that's a fact.
In
fact up until about 10-15 years ago many of these manufacturers
never even had a synthetic (except Mobil 1). They were too busy
trying to debunk the benefits of synthetics to the average consumer!
Now, technology, competition and consumer demand has forced every
major oil manufacturer to have a synthetic, and they are now also
claiming the same benefits that at one time they were trying to
debunk, but yet not a single one even comes close to offering the
protection and performance that AMSOIL does.
In fact, the Castrol Syntec isn't
even a 100% pure Group 4 synthetic. That's right...read on........
CASTROL AND MOBIL GO TO BATTLE IN COURT:
Recently,
Mobil accused Castrol of reformulating its synthetic by substituting
other basestocks in place of its synthetic polyaphaolefins (PAO's).
Castrol Syntec is a hydrocracked oil. That's right, Castrol has
replaced the PAO synthetic base stock with hydroisomerized
"petroleum base stock."
Hydrocracking, as it's called, is the highest level of petroleum
refining. Castrol isn't even a true synthetic
yet Castrol ended up winning the battle when the National
Advertising Division of the Council of Better Business Bureaus ruled
that Castrol could still market its oil as "synthetic" despite their
new formulation. Basically, they expanded the definition of
synthetics to include Group III hydroprocessed petroleum oil.
This high profile case took place because synthetics are recognized
as the market's best hope for growth. Synthetic motor oil sales have
outpaced petroleum oil sales by a wide margin and the gap continues
to widen every year. Consumers are getting smarter and demand the
best for their vehicles! Read the full story on the Castrol debacle
in our informative articles section.
Additionally, just as soon
as Castrol won this battle, several other major oil companies jumped
in and came up with hydroprocessed motor oils of their own and
labeled these products to be "100% synthetic", when they still are
primarily Group III hydroprocessed petroleum oils!

Synthetic Lubricants
- Made in The U.S.A.
Fact -
Using Amsoil Synthetic Motor Oil and Filters provides for a Cleaner
Environment!
Amsoil synthetic oil
extended drain intervals prevent the disposal of additional waste
oil. A fleet of 60 vehicles using conventional oil and conventional
oil change intervals produces 1,080 gallons of waste oil every
year. By switching to Amsoil synthetic motor oil, that same fleet
would produce only 360 gallons of waste oil per year. Less waste
means a cleaner environment and lower waste disposal costs.
Amsoil synthetic oil filters help save
the environment from being exposed to higher levels of pollution
from engine combustion and waste oil. More efficient combustion
decreases exhaust emissions and reduces fuel consumption. Using Amsoil motor oil and oil filters means less waste materials to be
disposed of to contaminate the environment.
Fact - Amsoil PI gas additive improves fuel mileage an average of 2.3% and up to 5.7%
and reduces emissions.

Huseman took both the win and
the Oakley Bomb Run Award for
the fastest lap time, while the
father/son Rockstar team of Kyle
and Curt Leduc finished second
and third respectively. AMSOIL
Super Team driver
Scott Douglas battled for a
sixth place finish. On Sunday,
Red Bull/AMSOIL driver
Steve Barlow grabbed the
lead for several laps before
losing it in a multi-car
incident. In the end, Huseman
grabbed the win and the Oakley
Bomb award for the weekend
sweep. Despite flipping his
AMSOIL Ford F-150 on its roof
early in the race, Douglas
refired and tracked down the
leaders for a strong fourth
place finish.
In
the AMSOIL Pro 2WD class, Rob
MacCachren and Todd Leduc took
first and second place on
Saturday, while Red Bull/AMSOIL
star
Ricky Johnson took third
place and the Oakley Bomb Run
Award. AMSOIL Super Team driver
Mike Oberg shot out of turn
one in second and held on to the
position before hitting a rutted
section of the track, turning
his truck over and putting him
out of the race. On Sunday,
Johnson led most of the race,
but a punctured tire from
contact pushed him to a fourth
place finish. AMSOIL-sponsored
racer Scott Taylor took first
place and the Oakley Bomb Run
Award, Leduc took second and
AMSOIL racer
Dan Vanden Heuvel rounded
out the top three.
In
the Forest County Potawatomi Pro
Light class, Marty Hart took the
win on Saturday, with Team
AMSOIL Super Team driver
Chad Hord taking a close
second and the Oakley Bomb Run

2wd trucks all battled it out in
a shoot-out for the $25,000
prize and the coveted Chairman's
Cup Trophy, with the Pro 2wd
drivers receiving almost a half
track head start. Upon the
start, Johnson grabbed the lead,
with Mike Oberg close behind.
Johnson held on for his
first-ever cup win, with Oberg
putting pressure on him
throughout the race.
Rounds seven and eight of the
2009 TORC Series will take place
at Bark River International

July 11-12.
Team AMSOIL Offshore Team
Topples its Own Record
Last year, the AMSOIL Offshore
Racing Team of
Bob Teague and Paul Whittier
cruised from Miami, Fla. to
Bimini, Bahamas and back to set
the Official Endurance Record
sanctioned by OSS in the Cat
Lite Class. The team returned
Friday, June 12 with the mission
of defending and beating its own
record in the 106-mile race. The
team accomplished its mission,
running the endurance event in
59 minutes, 40 seconds, which is
a little over five minutes
faster than last year’s record.
The official average speed of
the team was recorded at
106.8174 MPH. The team capped
off the weekend on Sunday by
entering and easily winning the
Cat Lite class of the Sunny
Isles Offshore Challenge.
Teague and Whittier resume

Rinker Earns Second Place Podium
in Evansville, Finishes Fourth
in Bay City
After earning a strong second
place podium finish at the
opening round of the 2009
F1-ChampBoat Series presented by
AMSOIL season in Port Neches,
Texas, Team AMSOIL powerboat
racer
Terry Rinker was looking for
another strong finish at the
second round of racing June
20-21 on the Ohio River in
Evansville, Ind. With a heat
index of 113 degrees, three
different drivers dropped out of
the race, forcing three
re-starts in the first half of
the race. Undeterred by the
sweltering conditions and a
spin-out early in the race,
Rinker fought his way forward
from eighth place to earn his
second straight second place
podium finish behind winner
Shaun Torrente.
The third round of the ChampBoat
season took place June 27-28 in
Bay City, Mich., where Rinker
was looking to gain ground on
points leader Shaun Torrente. He
started the weekend on the right
note, earning valuable points by
grabbing the number two
qualifier position (behind Tim
Seebold, but ahead of Torrente).
While Seebold grabbed the lead
in the final, Rinker and
Torrente battled it out for
second before Rinker’s fuel pump
gave out on lap 31. After the
red flag came out to stop the
race, Rinker repaired the pump
and was forced to re-start dead
last. He managed to move up the
field to eventually finish a
strong fourth. Although Torrente
finished one spot ahead in
third, Rinker’s strong
qualifying points allowed him to
close the gap in the points
standings by 14 points. He
currently holds second, just 24
points behind Torrente.
"We had a great set-up this
weekend, from qualifying to the
final," said Rinker. "It's too
bad we had the fuel pump issue
because we could have been back
on the podium for the third time
this year. The guys did a great
job getting us back out there
after the red flag. Without
their hard work, we wouldn't
have been able to close the gap
on Shaun and defend our 2009
championship."
The fourth round of the
F1-ChampBoat Series presented by
AMSOIL takes place August 15-16
in Nashville, Tenn.

Barcia Second, Golden Fourth in AMSOIL
Debut
The
GEICO
Powersports/AMSOIL/Honda
team rolled
into the Mile
High City with a
new rider under
the tent in WMA
front-runner
Vicki Golden. As
a "replacement
rider" for
Trey Canard,
Golden will be
competing in the
final part of
the WMA series
as well as the X
Games for the
AMSOIL sponsored
team.
Series rookie
Golden was blown
away by the
support offered
to her by the
team.
“It was really
good,” Golden
said. “Everyone
was nice and
welcoming to me,
and they helped
me out with
everything that
I
needed.
They were all
very welcoming,
and it was a new
experience
having a
full-time
mechanic looking
after every
detail. It was
definitely
awesome. He’s a
great mechanic,
and I couldn’t
complain about
the day.”
The 16-year-old
was second
fastest in
practice despite
having no time
on her new race
bike prior to
race day. In the
races, Golden
was fourth in
the first moto,
then led for a
period of time
in moto two
before finishing
third.
“Knowing that I
did just as
well, if not
better, in this
race than I had
before, and it
was my first
time ever
leading a WMA
race, given my
lack of time on
the bike, it
really helps my
confidence and I
can’t wait for
my next race,”
Golden said.
“It’s a great
start, and I
know I have more
time to get
comfortable, and
I’ll get better
from here.”
Golden returns
to action with
the WMA series
in Washougal on
July 25.
In the 250
class, another
rookie in Justin
Barcia had a
good day at
altitude,
despite a bad
start in moto
one, finishing
ninth. But in
the second moto,
Barcia started
closer to the
front, only to
inherit
the lead when
Jake Weimer went
down.
“Yeah, when I
got out front, I
tried to pull
out a lead as
best I could,
and Weimer was
riding really
well, so he
caught up to me
and passed me,”
Barcia said. “I
tried to stay
with him, but I
made a few
mistakes, but
second was
pretty good.”
Barcia hung on
for second,
giving him
fourth overall.
Brett Metcalfe
started up front
in both motos,
but had a
problem seeing
after all of his
tear-offs came
off on the
second turn in
moto one,
eventually
finishing
seventh. But in
the second moto,
Metcalfe ended
up in a
seven-rider
battle for
third.
“The
second moto, I
got another good
start, and then
I worked my way
up into fourth,”
Metcalfe said.
“Searle and I
were having a
good battle, and
then I finally
made a move on
him, and I tried
to put a little
time on him, and
then I spun out
in a turn and
made a mistake.
That allowed him
to get back by
me, and I had to
find another way
around him
again. I finally
got past him
again, and that
same lap he put
a pretty good
move on me and
pushed me out
wide, and Dungey
got underneath
me, so I lost
two spots, and a
couple turns
later Pourcel
was on me and he
went by me too.
I got swallowed
up pretty good
and was in
sixth, and on
the last lap, I
made a move on
Pourcel and I
was just a bit
angry from going
backward, so I
got back into
fifth, and that
was it.”
Blake Wharton
ran up front
the entire first
moto, ending up
fourth. He
started near the
front again in
moto two, but
got caught up in
an on track
incident and was
taken out by
another rider.
He would finish
11th in moto two
and eighth
overall.
From here, the
GEICO
Powersports/AMSOIL/Honda
team heads to
Buchanan, Mich.
for round six of
the championship
at infamous Red
Bud.
Until then,
we'll see you at
the races.
